Editorial Policies

Authorship Policy

MB International Scholar Press’s Authorship Policy follows the ICMJE criteria for authorship. Submission of a manuscript to MB International Scholar Press clearly indicates that the author(s) have agreed on the content of the manuscript. Contribution of the author(s) to the design of the work; or the analysis, or interpretation of data for the work should be clearly mentioned in the manuscript. Participation of author(s) in drafting or revising the work is mandatory. The author(s) must approve the final version to be published. One author should be indicated as the corresponding author. All correspondence and proofs would be sent to the corresponding author, who will be treated as a final representative voice for all authors regarding any decision related to the manuscript unless otherwise requested during submission.

Generally, any change in the authorship after final publication is not entertained and COPE guidelines are followed for any dispute. MB International Scholar Press would not be responsible for any dispute related to authorship of a submitted monograph or book chapter. Any change in the authorship (such as addition or deletion of the author(s) or change in the sequence of author list) should be intimated to the editorial office through a letter signed by all authors before publication of the book. In absence of any signed letter, approval of final version (ready-to-be-published) by the corresponding author will work as the ‘certificate of final agreement of authorship’.

Peer Review Policies and Review Process Flow

All submitted book chapters or monographs are subject to peer review before publication in consultation with editorial board and independent external referees, minimum two. To know about MB Scholar Press’s Peer Review Policies and Review Process Flow, kindly click here.

Plagiarism Policy

MB International Scholar Press strongly opposes the practice of duplicate publication or any type of plagiarism. MB International Scholar Press uses plagiarism checking software, which checks the content uploaded by the Editorial office against a database of periodicals, the Internet, and a comprehensive database and generates a Similarity Report. It generates a similarity report, including the percentage overlap comparing the uploaded article and published materials. If plagiarism is found in any manuscript after an internal investigation, a letter would be immediately sent to all the authors, their affiliated institutes and funding agency, if applied and subsequently the manuscript will be rejected.

Standard Protocol on Approvals, Registrations, Patient Consents & Animal Protection

The Declaration of Helsinki principles must be followed for conducting all clinical investigations. Regarding the patient’s consent for research or participation in a study, authors must comply with the guidelines of the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (www.icmje.org). Patients’ details like names, initials (including figures), or hospital numbers must not be mentioned anywhere in the manuscript. If required, the Academic Editor may request the authors to provide some information like documentation of the formal review and recommendation from the Institutional Review Board or Ethics Committee responsible for oversight of the study.

Copyright Policy

MB Scholar International Press’s Copyright Policy ensures that the copyrights of all published monographs or book chapters are retained by the respective authors as per the ‘Creative Commons Attribution License’ (http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/). Monographs are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-Non Commercial 4.0 International (CC BY-NC 4.0) license granted to all authors. Authors must ensure that submission of the book chapter to MB Scholar Press would result in no breach of contract or of confidence or of commitment given to secrecy. The author(s) should be the sole author(s) of the article and should have full authority to enter into the agreement and in granting rights (if any) to MB Scholar Press, which are not in breach of any other obligation.

Ethics Standards

MB International Scholar Press normally follows the guidelines given in COPE website. The publisher requests all authors, peer reviewers, academic editors, and the Societies (if applicable) to strictly follow this outstanding guideline. In case of experimental investigations of human or animal, a formal review and approval, or review and waiver, by an appropriate Institutional Review Board or Ethics Committee should be provided and should be mentioned in the manuscript clearly. For human investigations, the way of informed consent collection from the study participants (i.e., oral or written) should be mentioned in the Methodology section. The patient consent must be collected for the confidential case history. In the case of a minor patient, consent should be obtained from the parent(s) or guardian(s) of the patient(s). In the case of briefcase vignettes which do not contain identifying information or if the case material is disguised adequately to prevent identification of the patient, consent is not necessary. The author(s) should inform the purpose of publication, the possible risks and benefits to the patient and the patient’s right to withhold or withdraw the consent.

Conflicts of Interest Policy

MB International Scholar Press aims to promote integrity in research publication. All the authors, the academic editors, and the reviewers should mandatorily declare all possible conflicts of interest in line with publication ethics practices recommended by COPE, ICMJE, and other similar organizations. Financial contributions to the work should be clearly acknowledged, as should any potential conflict of interest.

In case of retraction or removal of the work, the publisher will be under no obligation to refund the paid amount.
